  • <Ginja> How have you been keeping anyhow?
  • <Moggie> i've been better thanks
  • <Moggie> but i'm ok i guess
  • <Moggie> how about yourself?
  • <Ginja> Same to be honest.
  • <Ginja> Kind of still in a stunned state from the weekend. I was in Sheffield gaming with other university students.
  • <Moggie> cool
  • <Moggie> was it fun?
  • <Ginja> Very. Got placed first in the horror category. Which makes it very hard for me to argue against competitive roleplay now. Because while I'm skeptical of the validity of it as an idea. It'd be disingenuous to say I'm against it. Because it would be callous towards the other players in my group who I'd help to play better; while they helped me play better and have more fun.
  • <Moggie> :O
  • * Ginja has been trying to express that since Sunday.
  • * Ginja apologies for vomiting that out.
  • <Moggie> heh
  • <Moggie> it was too obscure to read
  • <Moggie> perhaps if you broke it down a bit more simply?
  • <Ginja> Ok, I was playing horror games. But there was an element of competition between the players. The judge were tasked to workout who was the 'best player.' I'm not sure this is a great idea. Because roleplaying games like D&D are just making things up aren't they.
  • <Moggie> yup
  • <Moggie> it's not like a shoot-em-up where you can just count kills
  • <Ginja> But because I got placed first that is to say 'won' I can't say I'm against it. Because it was because of the other members of the group that helped me play better.
  • <Moggie> so you feel a bit guilty?
  • <Ginja> Slightly. Although I'm glad someone else from my group got placed.
  • <Moggie> yeah
  • <Moggie> well
  • <Moggie> if you start to feel :( about it
  • <Moggie> just remember, it's only a game :)
  • <Ginja> Aye it is.
  • <Ginja> Damn fun when you play with different people who are very talented.
  • <Ginja> Like seriously awesome fun.
  • <Moggie> i bet
  • <Moggie> playing against other people is usually good
  • <Moggie> playing against computers is only satifying for so long
